Anne Celeste Heche was an American actress known for her work in a variety of categories in the film and television theatre. Carpenter claims that Anne rejected his proposal to portray Laurie Strode. Anne claims that she doesn't remember being approached or even offered the role in any way by John Carpenter. It is possible that an agent turned it down on her behalf, without notifying the actress. Glen Larson chose her initially and gave her a preliminary written script. She was to appear in the TV series Battlestar Galactica, which aired beginning in 1978. She rejected the role initially since the character wasn't strong. Glen developed a brand new character, Sheba, which was much more powerful. She accepted the Living Legend's script after she read its first pages. It ran for a single season. She was in Joyride (1977), a film that she co-starred in and was in the film alongside Desi Arnaz Jr. Melanie Griffith, Robert Carradine.
