Ruth Roman died Thursday, aged 75 at the age of 75, at her Laguna Beach home. Ruth Roman was an iconic Hollywood screen star who starred in Hollywood in the 1950s thanks to her love of both the sexually ferocious and pure. She passed away in her sleep, according to her son, Richard Hall. Her breakout performance as Kirk Douglas in Stanley Kramer's "Champion," an adaptation in 1949 of the Ring Lardner story that revolves around the maniacal champion of prizes, Warner Brothers gave her starring roles in nine films in less than two years. In one day she leaped from appearing alongside Bette Davis in "Beyond Forest'', to appearing alongside Milton Berle in ''Always Leave Them Laughing.'' One week after the release of ''Strangers On a Train with Robert Walker, she was transported to "Tomorrow is Another Day'' alongside Steve Cochran.
