Amanda Brugel

Brugel was the sole Canadian participant during Season 1 of the series, and not seen much. But in Season 2 she became a series frequent and was a part of the cast ever since. While discussing her role, and similarities to her daily life, she could be able to relate to the racism and injustices she's experienced in her other aspects of life. She explained: "I lean heavily on race. As I said, I've encountered situations where I felt like I was treated like being a slave simply because I'm African-American." Though I've not experienced physical abuse because of my skin tone however, I have certainly experienced insults verbally. In the TV show, I'll use any kind of racial epithets or slurs that make me believe that someone's hit me. "I use this feeling almost throughout the show, since it's as if she's receiving a punch at minimum during every scene."
